The campground offers a tetherball area and a sand volleyball court located next to the Cedar River.  A horseshoe court is located just east of the campground entrance.

The campground’s 3 acre pond serves as a popular fishing hole.  It’s also a serene setting for a relaxing ride on a pedal boat, available for rent at a rate of $5.00 an hour.   Some campers also enjoy a quiet canoe float on the pond. 

The showerhouse, constructed in 2001, provides campers with shower and restroom facilities free of cost.   A laundromat is located just inside the entrance of the campground, and the Eastside Mini Mart provides campers with a convenient shopping location for snacks, beverages, food, and freshly prepared pizza.  The shelter house is available with a reservation.

A favorite section of the campground dubbed Blackbird Island provides tenters with a scenic view of the Cedar River and a terrific spot from which campers can stargaze at night.   R Campground offers canoe rentals for $20.00 a day and is a great location from which to launch canoes onto the Cedar.  Each campsite contains a picnic table and a fire ring.  Firewood is available, provided to campers, 25 pieces for only $5.00.
